Relations between the EU and Lebanon are based on an Association Agreement, which entered into force in 2006, and the Decision of the EU-Lebanon Association Council about the EU-Lebanon partnership priorities for the period 2016-2020.

SIGMA, the EC and the Lebanese authorities agreed a work programme in December 2016 that gives priority in the period to June 2018 to co-operating with:

  • The Court of Accounts on increasing awareness and knowledge of performance audit.

  • The Presidency of the Council of Ministers on presenting The Principles of Public Administration: A Framework for ENP Countries to Lebanese policy makers, to promote the Principles as a basis for strategic planning of public administration reform in Lebanon.
