Türkiye is both an OECD member country and EU Enlargement country.
Türkiye remains a key partner for the EU. Türkiye has been linked to the EU by an Association Agreement since 1964 and a Customs Union was established in 1995. The European Council granted Türkiye the status of candidate country in December 1999 and accession negotiations were opened in October 2005.
SIGMA is currently working with:
- The Presidential Human Resources Office on the effective adoption and use of some modern HRM tools.
- The Ministry of Treasury and Finance on improving PFM practices.
- The Public Procurement Authority and the Ministry of Treasury and Finance on regulatory and institutional development and related capacity building in the public procurement area.
- The State Supply Office on the development of centralised purchasing.
