Assessments and initial monitoring reports

SIGMA's annual assessments up to 2014 were prepared at the request of the European Commission (EC) and reviewed the progress made by EU candidate countries and potential candidates in a number of areas of public administration reform.

SIGMA has carried out reviews against the Principles of Public Administration in the EU candidate countries and potential candidates since 2015, when baseline measurement reports covering the full scope of the Principles were prepared. Monitoring reports were also prepared in 2016 in selected areas. These reviews analysed performance against standard benchmarks and performance criteria.
